My name is Michael. My wife Marsha and I reside in Darke County, Ohio in an “off the grid” solar and wind powered home that we built ourselves.

I became a luthier in the 1970s after we returned from teaching and library work in Queensland, Australia. I have since built hundreds of mountain dulcimers and dozens of hammered dulcimers, psaltries, banjos, and autoharps. For the past thirty-three years I have worked as an independent piano tuner/technician and as a stringed instrument repairman for a local music store.

Marsha met her first autoharp as a college student in the early 1970s and began her mountain dulcimer journey a few years later. She brings a growing knowledge of songs and music theory to our work.
